What Is Kling AI? Kling 3.0 and How to Use It

What Kling AI is, what the Kling 3.0 models can do, how its credits work, and a step-by-step way to get good clips from it, including multi-shot prompts.

What Is Kling AI? Kling 3.0 and How to Use It

Kling AI is an AI video generator made by Kuaishou, the Chinese short-video company, that turns text prompts and images into video clips. Its current Kling 3.0 models make clips of 3 to 15 seconds at 720p or 1080p, with native audio (including dialogue in five languages), several shots in one generation, and saved characters you can reuse across clips.

This guide explains what Kling AI is, what changed in Kling 3.0, how its credits work, how to use it step by step, and how to write prompts for its multi-shot feature. It also covers using Kling inside QuickVeed.

The short answer

Kling AI is Kuaishou's text-to-video and image-to-video generator. Kling 3.0, launched in February 2026, makes 3 to 15 second clips at 720p or 1080p with native sound and dialogue in Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. It can plan several shots in one clip and keep a character consistent using reference images. You use it at kling.ai or through tools such as QuickVeed.

Key takeaways

  • Kling AI is made by Kuaishou; the 3.0 series launched in February 2026.
  • Kling 3.0 clips run 3 to 15 seconds, at 720p or 1080p.
  • Native audio covers dialogue, effects and ambience; dialogue is listed for five languages.
  • Multi-shot puts several camera shots in one generation, and Elements keep a character or object consistent.
  • On Kling's site, Video 3.0 costs 9 credits a second at 720p with audio and 12 at 1080p.

Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in October 2026 and linked at the end.

What is Kling AI?

Kling AI is a video generation service and a family of models from Kuaishou, best known for its short-video app. You type a description of a scene, or upload a picture, and Kling returns a video clip. Kling first launched in 2024, and it is now one of the models that most multi-model video tools offer.

In February 2026 Kuaishou launched the Kling 3.0 series. The press release lists four models: Video 3.0, Video 3.0 Omni, Image 3.0 and Image 3.0 Omni, with longer clips of up to 15 seconds and native audio across several languages, dialects and accents. When people ask what Kling AI is today, these are the models they mean.

ModelWhat it does
Kling Video 3.0Text or image to video, 3-15 s, with audio and multi-shot
Kling Video 3.0 OmniThe all-in-one version, an upgrade of Kling's earlier O1 model, with its own user guide
Kling Image 3.0 / Image 3.0 OmniImage generation, useful for making a first frame
Older models (2.x)Still offered by many tools; cheaper and faster, without 3.0's audio and multi-shot

Kling 3.0 features explained

Kling's own Video 3.0 user guide, checked in October 2026, lists these features:

FeatureWhat it means in practice
3-15 second clipsPick any length in that range; 15 s is enough for a short scene without a cut
720p or 1080p1080p costs more credits
Native audioDialogue, effects and ambience generated with the picture
Dialogue languagesChinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish, including mixed-language scenes; other languages are translated into English
Multi-character dialogueAssign lines to each character so the right person speaks
Multi-ShotKling plans the shot changes and camera angles for you
Custom Multi-ShotYou set the number of shots and the length of each
ElementsSave a character, object or scene from 2-4 reference images or a short video, and reuse it; a character can carry its voice
Start and end framesGive the first and last image and Kling animates between them

The combination of 15-second clips and multi-shot is what sets Kling apart. A single generation can hold a wide shot, a close-up and a reaction, which on most other models would be three separate clips you join by hand.

How to use Kling AI step by step

The workflow is the same whether you use Kling's own site or a tool that offers Kling models:

  1. Choose text-to-video or image-to-video. Start from an image whenever the look matters, such as a product, a real room or a brand character. Text-to-video is fine for generic scenes.
  2. Pick the model. Video 3.0 for most work; 3.0 Omni when you work from references; an older 2.x model for cheap drafts.
  3. Write the prompt. Subject, action, setting, camera, light and style, then a separate sentence for sound and any dialogue.
  4. Set the length and resolution. Start with 5 seconds at 720p while you test the idea.
  5. Turn on multi-shot if you need it, and describe each shot on its own line.
  6. Generate, review, adjust one thing, regenerate. Change the camera or the action, not everything at once.
  7. Render the final at the length and resolution you need, and download it.

A multi-shot prompt example

Keep the character description identical in every shot, and give each shot a framing and one action:

  • Shot 1 (4 s): Wide shot of a small bike repair shop at dusk, a woman in her 40s with a grey ponytail and a blue work shirt tightens a wheel on a stand. Street sounds.
  • Shot 2 (3 s): Close-up of her hands spinning the wheel, checking it runs true. The soft tick of the hub.
  • Shot 3 (4 s): Medium shot, the same woman looks up at the camera and says: “Bring it in Friday, ride it Saturday.”

If the character changes between shots, save her as an Element from two to four reference images and use it in every generation.

How much does Kling AI cost?

Kling charges in its own credits. Its Video 3.0 guide lists these per-second prices:

Kling Video 3.0720p1080p
With native audio9 credits/s12 credits/s
Without audio6 credits/s8 credits/s
Voice control (extra)+2 credits/s+2 credits/s

So a 10-second 1080p clip with sound is 120 Kling credits. How much a credit costs depends on the plan and on promotions, and Kling's membership page lists a free Basic tier plus several paid plans. Check that page for the current allowance, and check whether free downloads carry a watermark before you plan client work on a free account.

A cheaper path for drafts is to generate without audio at 720p, then switch audio on for the final once the motion is right. If you plan to add your own voiceover or music anyway, you may not need Kling's audio at all.

Common Kling AI problems and how to fix them

Most bad Kling clips come from a handful of causes. Fix one at a time and regenerate at 5 seconds and 720p until the shot works, then render the final.

ProblemLikely causeFix
The character changes between shotsThe description differs from prompt to promptUse an Element built from 2-4 reference images, or paste one fixed description into every shot
The wrong person speaksLines aren't assigned to a characterName the speaker by appearance before each line, as Kling's guide recommends for multi-character dialogue
Dialogue comes out in English when you wanted another languageThe language isn't on the dialogue listKling lists Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean and Spanish; for others, generate silent footage and add a voiceover
A 15-second clip loses the plot halfwayToo much happening in one generationUse Custom Multi-Shot with short, separate shot descriptions, or split it into two clips
Motion is jittery or warpedFast action or a complex sceneSlow the action down, simplify the background, or start from a clean image
Credits run out fastTesting at 1080p with audioDraft at 720p without audio (6 credits a second on Kling's site), then switch on audio and 1080p for the final

Kling also tends to add motion when the prompt is vague. If a product shot drifts, say what should stay still: “the bottle stays in place, only the camera moves”.

How to use Kling in QuickVeed

QuickVeed offers Kling v3, Kling v3 Omni and Kling v2.5 Turbo Pro alongside Veo, Seedance, Runway and others, billed in QuickVeed credits from one account.

  1. Open the AI video generator (in the app it is under Create video).
  2. Type a prompt, or upload an image to use as the starting frame.
  3. Choose a model. Clip lengths run from 2 to 15 seconds depending on the model: Veo 3.1 gives 4, 6 or 8 s, Kling v3 3 to 15 s, Seedance 2.0 4 to 15 s, Runway Gen-4.5 5 or 10 s.
  4. Pick the aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3, 3:4 or 21:9 where the model supports it) and the resolution (480p to 1080p).
  5. Check the price shown, then generate. Failed generations are refunded, and every result is saved in your asset library.

Choose Kling v3 or Kling v3 Omni in step 3 for 3 to 15 seconds with sound. A 5-second Kling v3 clip at 720p is 210 credits; Kling v2.5 Turbo Pro is a cheaper option for silent drafts. Nine of the models generate sound with the picture: Veo 3.1 and Veo 3.1 Fast, Kling v3 and Kling v3 Omni, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Fast and Seedance 1.5 Pro, and Vidu Q3 Pro and Vidu Q3 Turbo.

QuickVeed doesn't have Kling's saved Elements library. To keep a character consistent across clips in QuickVeed, start each clip from the same reference image and paste the same character description into each prompt.
