Free video trimmer

Trim a video to the part you need, right in your browser

Cut the dead air at the start, the fumble at the end, or pull one moment out of a long recording. Scrub the preview, mark the start and end, and save just that part with its sound.

Recording takes-
In short

To trim a video, open it here, play or scrub the preview and click Use current time to set the start, then do the same for the end (or type times like 0:12 and 1:05.5). Click Trim and save: the browser plays only that part once and records it with the sound, so a 40-second cut takes about 40 seconds. The file is MP4 where your browser can record MP4 and WebM otherwise, and it is re-encoded, not a lossless cut.

How it works

3 steps, a few seconds

1

Open your video

Drop an MP4 or WebM file up to 500 MB. The part you keep can be up to 20 minutes.

2

Mark start and end

Scrub the preview and click Use current time, or type the times.

3

Save it

Only the part you keep is played and recorded, then download it.

FAQ

Questions about the Video Trimmer

How do I trim the start and end off a video?
Open the video, move the preview to where it should start and click Use current time under Start, then move to where it should end and click Use current time under End. Click Trim and save and download the result.
Can I type exact times?
Yes. Type minutes and seconds like 0:12 or 1:05.5. Plain seconds work too, so 75 is the same as 1:15.
Is trimming lossless?
No. Browsers can't cut a video file without re-encoding it, so the tool plays the part you keep and records it again. Quality stays close to the original at the same size; very large videos are scaled to 1920 px on the long side.
Why does saving take as long as the clip?
The kept part is played once while it's recorded. A 2-minute cut takes about 2 minutes. Keep the tab open and visible, because browsers slow down hidden tabs.
Can I cut a section out of the middle?
This tool keeps one continuous part. To remove a middle section, trim the part before it and the part after it, then join them with the free video merger.
Is my video uploaded?
No. The file is opened from your device and recorded in your browser. Nothing is sent to QuickVeed.
