HeyGen Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Minutes

What each paid HeyGen plan costs in October 2026, monthly and yearly, how many minutes of avatar video its credits buy on each engine, video length and avatar limits, credit rollover, and the separate pay-as-you-go API prices.

HeyGen Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Minutes

HeyGen has a Free plan and three self-serve paid plans: Creator at $29 a month ($24 a month billed yearly), Pro from $49 a month ($41 yearly) and Business at $149 a month ($119 yearly), plus Enterprise on request. Each paid plan comes with monthly credits (600, 1,000 and 1,500), and avatar video uses 4 to 48 credits a minute depending on the avatar engine, so Creator buys anywhere from about 12 to 150 minutes a month.

Every figure below was read on HeyGen's pricing page and help centre on 30 October 2026. This guide covers the paid plans; for what the free plan does and doesn't include, see Is HeyGen free?. More breakdowns are in our video tool pricing and alternatives guides.

The short answer

HeyGen Creator costs $29/month or $24/month billed yearly ($288) for 600 credits, 1080p and videos up to 30 minutes. Pro starts at $49/month or $41 yearly ($488) for 1,000 credits and 4K, with higher credit tiers up to 100,000. Business is $149/month or $119 yearly ($1,428) for 1,500 credits, 60-minute videos and $20 extra seats. Avatar IV uses 16 to 31 credits a minute, Avatar V 48.

Key takeaways

  • HeyGen sells credits: one balance pays for avatars, translation, Video Agent and generated clips.
  • The minutes you get depend on the avatar engine: 600 Creator credits are about 150 minutes of Avatar III, 19 of Avatar IV (video look) or 12 of Avatar V.
  • Yearly billing is shown as '2 months free': $24 instead of $29 on Creator, $41 instead of $49 on Pro.
  • Creator and Pro can't buy one-off credit packs; you move up a plan or a Pro tier. Business can buy 100 credits for $5.
  • The API is billed separately, pay as you go, with no free API credits since February 2026.

Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in October 2026 and linked at the end.

How much does HeyGen cost per month?

HeyGen costs $0, $29, $49 or $149 a month on its self-serve plans, or $24, $41 and $119 a month billed yearly. From HeyGen's pricing page, checked 30 October 2026:

Pro adds 4K export, faster processing, Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1 and editing of translated scripts. Business adds a shared workspace, 5 custom avatars with Avatar V, SSO, SCORM export and integrations with HubSpot, Zapier, Make and n8n.

How do HeyGen credits work?

Credits are HeyGen's single currency. Its help centre lists what each feature uses per minute of finished video; the minutes below divide each plan's monthly credits by that rate:

FeatureCredits per minuteMinutes on Creator (600)Minutes on Pro (1,000)Minutes on Business (1,500)

HeyGen says some accounts see different rates depending on when and where they signed up, and the app shows the exact credit cost before you generate, so check that number on your first video. Custom Expressive Motion on Avatar IV adds 40 credits a minute.

How many minutes of video do you get with HeyGen?

It depends on the engine more than the plan: from about 12 minutes (Avatar V) to 150 minutes (Avatar III, video look) a month on Creator. Avatar IV, the engine most comparisons use, gives about 19 to 37 minutes on Creator depending on the look. Each single video is capped at 1 minute on Free, 30 minutes on Creator and Pro, and 60 minutes on Business.

Here's what a minute costs with Avatar IV (video look, 31 credits) and Avatar V (48 credits), dividing the price by the minutes the credits buy:

Plan and billingPriceAvatar IV per minuteAvatar V per minute
Creator, monthly$29About $1.50About $2.32
Creator, yearly$24/monthAbout $1.24About $1.92
Pro, monthly$49About $1.52About $2.35
Pro, yearly$41/monthAbout $1.27About $1.97
Business, monthly$149About $3.08About $4.77
Business top-up credits$5 per 100About $1.55About $2.40

Business costs more per minute because you're paying for team features; its top-up credits ($0.05 each) bring extra minutes back to about $1.55 on Avatar IV. Unused credits raise the real price: a $29 month that makes 5 minutes of Avatar IV costs nearly $6 a minute.

Do HeyGen credits roll over?

Yes, for a while. On monthly billing, unused credits roll over for one more billing cycle, so they last up to 60 days. On yearly billing, credits arrive monthly and accumulate until the renewal date. If you cancel and drop to Free, unused credits are lost.

To get more credits, Creator users upgrade to Pro, Pro users move to a higher Pro tier, and Business users buy 100-credit blocks for $5 or turn on auto-reload. Pro tiers keep the same features and change only the credits. A selection of the tiers on the pricing page:

Pro tierMonthlyBilled yearly

HeyGen doesn't put a number on 'expanded' or 'maximum' voice-cloning usage; the pricing page uses only those words. Extra custom video avatars are an add-on from Creator up.

How much does the HeyGen API cost?

The API is separate from the plans: you buy API credits in dollars, pay as you go, and don't need a Creator, Pro or Business plan. HeyGen's help centre (updated 28 October 2026) lists these self-serve rates per minute of generated video:

API featurePrice per minute
Avatar III, digital twin$0.60
Avatar III, studio or photo avatar$0.99
Avatar IV, photo avatar$2.31
Avatar IV, digital twin or studio avatar$4.83
Avatar V, digital twin$7.20
Video translation, audio only$0.57
Video translation with lip sync, Speed / Precision$0.81 / $1.50
Video Agent, prompt to video$5.82

Usage is charged by the seconds actually generated. API credits expire 12 months after purchase, and HeyGen stopped giving free API credits in February 2026. The same article notes that API output from Avatar IV and V marked as 4K is a 1080p render stretched to 3840×2160.

Which HeyGen plan should you choose?

  • Free: testing avatars on a few 1-minute videos you don't mind watermarked. Details in Is HeyGen free?.
  • Creator ($24 yearly): one person making presenter videos or translations at 1080p; about 19 minutes of Avatar IV a month.
  • Pro (from $41 yearly): 4K, more credits or the newest models; pick the tier by the minutes you'll make.
  • Business ($119 yearly for the first seat): teams that need a shared workspace, SSO, SCORM or 60-minute videos.

If price per minute matters most, compare Synthesia's plans ($19 a month for about 12 extra minutes) and the tools in HeyGen alternatives. For translation-only work, Rask AI pricing shows a minutes-based model.

Where QuickVeed fits

QuickVeed's AI avatars make short presenter clips, not long avatar videos: every model is capped at 30 seconds. P-Video Avatar speaks a typed script for 63 credits per 10 seconds, about $6.80 a minute on the Starter plan, which is far more per minute than HeyGen's Avatar IV. A photo-to-talking-video with LivePortrait is 10 credits per 10 seconds (about $1.08 a minute) but needs a voice track from the AI voice generator.

QuickVeed is cheaper for the work around the avatar: auto subtitles at 1.5 credits a transcript minute, AI dubbing at about 6.5 credits a minute with a stock voice (without lip sync, plus translation billed by AI usage), and captioned vertical clips from a long video. QuickVeed plans are $18 a month for 1,000 credits (Starter), $42 for 2,500 (Boost) and $114 for 6,000 (Scale), and a new account gets a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. That makes a credit worth about 1.7 to 1.9 cents.
