Video tool pricing and alternatives

Video tool pricing is hard to compare because every vendor counts something different: editors such as CapCut, VEED and Kapwing charge per seat and cap export length or AI features; AI avatar tools such as HeyGen and Synthesia sell credits or minutes of generated video; clipping tools such as OpusClip count minutes of video you upload; voice and dubbing tools count characters or minutes of speech. These guides list each tool's plans from its own pricing page, translate its credits into minutes and dollars, say what the free plan really allows, and compare the alternatives on price, watermark, export limits and the jobs each one does best.

What do AI video models cost per second?

Generative models such as Veo, Runway, Kling and Sora are priced per second of video, so a 10-second clip can cost anywhere from a few cents to several dollars. Veo 3.1 pricing and Runway pricing work out the cost per second and per clip, and Sora alternatives compares the other models.

How do you compare video tool prices fairly?

Work out the cost of the video you actually make each month: minutes uploaded, minutes generated, clips exported or languages dubbed. Then check four things the headline price hides: whether credits expire or roll over, whether the free or cheapest plan adds a watermark, the longest video and highest resolution each plan exports, and whether the price is per person. Yearly billing usually saves 20 to 40%, but only if you'll use the tool all year.
