Murf AI Pricing (2026): Plans, Hours and API Costs

Murf AI's Studio plans in November 2026, monthly and yearly, with the voice-generation hours each includes, how Murf counts those hours, the free plan's limits, licences, the pay-as-you-go API and dubbing rates, and the real cost per minute.

Murf AI Pricing (2026): Plans, Hours and API Costs

Murf AI's Studio has four plans: Free (10 minutes of voice generation), Creator at $29 a month or $19 a month billed yearly ($228), Business at $99 a month or $66 billed yearly ($792), and Enterprise on request. Creator includes 2 hours of voice generation a month (24 hours a year on yearly billing) and Business 8 hours a month (96 a year).

Murf's pricing page now has three tabs, API, Studio and Dub, priced differently. This guide covers all three, from the page as it read on 1 November 2026. For other voice tools, see Murf AI alternatives and our video tool pricing and alternatives guides; if you're choosing a voice for videos, text to speech voices for YouTube and how to add a voiceover to a video cover the workflow.

The short answer

Murf Studio is free for 10 minutes of voice generation (no downloads, no commercial rights). Creator costs $29 a month for 2 hours a month, or $19 a month billed yearly ($228) for 24 hours a year. Business costs $99 a month for 8 hours a month, or $66 a month yearly ($792) for 96 hours. The API is pay as you go from $0.01 per 1,000 characters.

Key takeaways

  • Murf charges by hours of generated speech, not characters: Creator is 2 hours a month, Business 8.
  • Yearly billing saves 33% and pools the hours over the year, so a busy month can use more than its share.
  • The free plan has no downloads and no commercial rights; it's for testing voices.
  • Murf lists voice cloning only as an Enterprise add-on in Studio.
  • The API is separate and much cheaper per minute: $0.01 or $0.03 per 1,000 characters, with $10 of free credit.

Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in November 2026 and linked at the end.

Creator and Business are single-editor plans. Sharing projects, viewer seats, access control and SSO are Enterprise features, so a team that needs to collaborate inside Murf is looking at a sales quote.

What's the difference between Murf Creator and Business?

Business adds 4 times the voice hours and a business licence. Both include all 200+ voices in 30+ languages and accents, unlimited downloads, commercial rights, the Canva integration and royalty-free stock media.

Murf's FAQ says a registered business should choose Business rather than Creator, because Business carries the licence written for organisations. Full broadcasting rights are an Enterprise add-on.

How does Murf count voice generation time?

Murf counts the length of the speech it generates, block by block. Its FAQ says time is used whenever you render a new text block or change the text in an existing one. Changing the voice, style, pitch, speed, pauses, emphasis, pronunciation, punctuation or volume for the same text does not use more time.

In practice: write and fix your script before you generate, then experiment with voices freely. Each text edit after that costs the length of that block again.

On yearly plans there are no monthly caps, only the yearly total: Creator's 24 hours can be 5 hours in a launch month and less in others.

What does a minute of Murf voice cost?

Divide the price by the minutes included. If you use the whole allowance:

Plan and billingPriceMinutes includedPer minute of speech
Creator, monthly$29 a month120About $0.24
Creator, yearly$228 a year1,440About $0.16
Business, monthly$99 a month480About $0.21
Business, yearly$792 a year5,760About $0.14

Every regenerated block counts, so a script you rewrite twice costs three times its length. For comparison, ElevenLabs pricing works out to roughly $0.17 to $0.20 an extra minute on its paid plans.

What does the Murf free plan include?

The free plan includes 10 minutes of voice generation, 10 projects and one editor, with the Business plan's features but no downloads and no commercial rights. Murf's FAQ says it has no time limit: you can use it until the 10 minutes run out. It's a way to judge the voices, not to publish anything.

How much do the Murf API and Murf Dub cost?

The API is pay as you go. A free trial gives $10 of API credit, and bought credit never expires. Murf's API rates on 1 November 2026:

API servicePrice
Text to speech, Falcon 2.1 (built for real-time voice agents)$0.01 per 1,000 characters
Text to speech, studio quality (Gen2)$0.03 per 1,000 characters
Speech to text (beta)$0.24 an hour
Voice changer$0.10 a minute
Translation$0.02 per 1,000 characters

At about 1,000 characters a minute of speech, that's 1 to 3 cents a minute, far less than Studio, but you need a developer to call it and there's no editor. Murf Dub uses credits at 2 per minute of video per language; its calculator shows 10 minutes into one language as 20 credits, $5. Professional voice cloning is listed under API Enterprise.

Is Murf worth it, and where does QuickVeed fit?

Murf suits people who build narration in its studio: e-learning, presentations and explainer voice overs, with pronunciation and emphasis controls and Slides or PowerPoint add-ons on Business. If you mostly need short voice overs for videos, look at what else you'd pay for.

QuickVeed's AI voice generator is priced per 1,000 characters: 7 credits with Chatterbox, 13 with ElevenLabs Turbo or Flash v2.5, 25 with ElevenLabs v3, up to 10,000 characters a job, with voice cloning on MiniMax Speech, Chatterbox, XTTS v2 and OpenVoice in 8 languages. Per minute that's about 12 to 48 cents, so it isn't cheaper than Murf's yearly plans for long narration. What it adds is the video side on the same credits: auto subtitles, AI dubbing and AI avatars. It has no studio timeline like Murf's. QuickVeed plans are $18 a month for 1,000 credits (Starter), $42 for 2,500 (Boost) and $114 for 6,000 (Scale); yearly billing is 10 times the monthly price. A new account gets a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. A credit works out to about 1.7 to 1.9 cents.
