Kling AI has a free Basic plan and four paid plans: Standard at $8.80 a month (660 credits), Pro at $32.56 (3,000 credits), Premier at $181.99 (18,000 credits) and Ultra+ at $544.99 (57,000 credits). The first month of each is 30% off, so the headline prices you see are $6.99, $25.99, $144.99 and $432.99. Paid yearly, Standard is $79.20 and Pro $293.04.
That first-month discount is why price lists online disagree. Below are both numbers, read on Kling's membership page on 1 November 2026 in US dollars, plus what a clip costs in credits and in dollars. Kling may show other prices in other regions. More breakdowns are in our video tool pricing and alternatives guides.
The short answer
Kling AI Standard costs $6.99 for the first month, then $8.80 a month, for 660 credits; Pro is $25.99, then $32.56, for 3,000 credits. Yearly, Standard is $79.20 and Pro $293.04. A 5-second Kling 3.0 clip at 1080p with sound uses 60 credits, so Standard makes about 11 of them a month, at roughly 60 to 80 cents each.
Key takeaways
- The advertised $6.99 is a one-time first-month price; Standard renews at $8.80 a month.
- Kling 3.0 costs 6 to 12 credits a second depending on resolution and sound: 30 to 60 credits for a 5-second clip.
- Monthly credits expire 31 days after they're issued; bought credit packs last 2 years.
- Watermark removal and commercial use are listed for paid plans only, not for the free Basic plan.
- The API is billed separately in units: $0.126 a second for Kling 3.0 at 720p with sound.
Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in November 2026 and linked at the end.
How much does Kling AI cost per month?
Kling AI costs $0 on Basic and $8.80 to $544.99 a month on its paid plans after the first month. Kling's membership page on 1 November 2026:
| Plan | First month | Then, monthly | Yearly | Credits a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $0 | $0 | $0 | Free monthly credits; amount not shown on the page |
| Standard | $6.99 | $8.80 | $79.20 ($6.60 a month) | 660 |
| Pro | $25.99 | $32.56 | $293.04 ($24.42 a month) | 3,000 |
| Premier | $144.99 | $181.99 | $1,639.99 (about $136.67 a month) | 18,000 |
| Ultra+ | $432.99 | $544.99 | $4,902.99 (about $408.58 a month) | 57,000 |
The page shows crossed-out list prices ($10, $37, $207 and $619) with '12% off' on monthly billing and '34% off' on yearly. The '100 credits = $1.06' line on the Standard card uses the first-month price; at the renewal price, 100 Standard credits cost about $1.33. Premier also has a slider for 8,000 to 38,000 credits; the prices above are its default 18,000 tier.
Every paid plan lists 1080p and 4K generation, watermark removal, commercial use, daily bonus credits, unlimited queued tasks and fast-track generation. Pro and up add priority access to new features, and the yearly Ultra+ plan lists early access to Kling 4.0 Flash.
How many credits does a Kling video use?
A Kling 3.0 video uses 6 to 12 credits per second. Kling's VIDEO 3.0 guide lists these rates, and the rest of the table is simple multiplication:
| Kling 3.0 mode | Credits a second | 5-second clip | 10-second clip |
|---|---|---|---|
| 720p, no sound | 6 | 30 | 60 |
| 720p, native audio | 9 | 45 | 90 |
| 1080p, no sound | 8 | 40 | 80 |
| 1080p, native audio | 12 | 60 | 120 |
| Voice control (add-on) | +2 | +10 | +20 |
So Standard's 660 credits are 11 five-second 1080p clips with sound, or 22 silent 720p clips. Pro's 3,000 credits are 50 of the 1080p clips, a little over 4 minutes of footage. Remember that a usable shot often takes two or three tries, so plan on fewer finished clips than the arithmetic suggests.
Kling 4.0, released with a user guide dated 26 October 2026, makes 3 to 30 seconds per generation at 720p, 1080p or 4K. Its guide doesn't list credit costs, so check the price the app shows before you generate.
What does one Kling clip cost in dollars?
Divide the clip's credits by the plan's credits and multiply by the price. For a 5-second Kling 3.0 clip at 1080p with sound (60 credits):
| How you pay | Price per credit | 5-second 1080p clip with sound |
|---|---|---|
| Standard, after the first month | About 1.33 cents | About $0.80 |
| Standard, yearly | About 1.0 cent | About $0.60 |
| Pro, after the first month | About 1.09 cents | About $0.65 |
| Pro, yearly | About 0.81 cents | About $0.49 |
| Credit pack, 660 for $10 | About 1.5 cents | About $0.91 |
| API, 1080p with native audio | $0.168 a second | $0.84 |
Those are best cases: they assume you use every credit. Monthly credits expire 31 days after they're issued, so a Standard month in which you make three clips costs $8.80 for three clips.
Can you buy Kling credits without a subscription?
Yes. Kling sells credit packs that are valid for 2 years, shown on 1 November 2026 as a limited-time offer: 100 credits for $1.49, 330 for $5, 660 for $10, 1,320 for $20, 3,500 for $50 (3,300 plus 200 bonus), 7,500 for $100, 16,000 for $200 and 48,000 for $600. Credits can't be refunded, transferred or swapped for a membership.
Kling's FAQ adds that owning credits doesn't give subscription benefits: watermark removal and 4K generation need an active plan. When a subscription ends, its unused monthly credits expire, while bought credits stay until their own expiry. Kling spends the credits that expire soonest first.
Is Kling AI free?
Partly. The Basic plan is $0, and non-subscribers can claim free credits each month on login, valid for 31 days. Kling's membership page doesn't say how many, and its comparison table doesn't tick watermark removal or commercial use for Basic. Its FAQ says paid subscribers may use generated content commercially, so treat free-plan clips as tests. Our free AI video generator guide compares other free options.
How much does the Kling API cost?
The API is priced in units, at a list price of $0.14 a unit, separately from the app plans. Kling's API pricing page:
| API model | 720p | 1080p | 4K |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kling 3.0, no native audio | $0.084/s | $0.112/s | $0.42/s |
| Kling 3.0, native audio | $0.126/s | $0.168/s | $0.42/s |
| Kling 3.0 Turbo, native audio | $0.112/s | $0.14/s | - |
| Kling 3.0 Omni, no video input or audio | $0.084/s | $0.112/s | $0.42/s |
Failed generations don't use units, and unused resource-package balance is cleared when the package expires.
Kling direct or Kling inside another tool?
Kling is also offered inside tools that resell several video models on one balance, including QuickVeed's AI video generator, which has Kling v3, Kling v3 Omni and Kling v2.5 Turbo Pro (not Kling 4.0). A 5-second Kling v3 clip at 720p is 210 QuickVeed credits, about $3.50 to $4 depending on the plan. Kling's own price for 5 seconds at 720p is 30 credits silent or 45 with sound, well under $1. Kling v2.5 Turbo Pro is 88 credits for 5 seconds in QuickVeed, about $1.50.
- Buy Kling directly if you make Kling clips every week: per clip it is several times cheaper, and you get Kling 4.0, Elements and multi-shot.
- Use a multi-model tool if you need a few shots a month from different models (Kling, Veo, Seedance, Runway) and don't want a subscription for each. In QuickVeed the same credits also pay for a voice over, captions or a dub. QuickVeed plans are $18 a month for 1,000 credits (Starter), $42 for 2,500 (Boost) and $114 for 6,000 (Scale); yearly billing is 10 times the monthly price. A new account gets a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. A credit works out to about 1.7 to 1.9 cents.
