OpusClip Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Limits

OpusClip's plans in October 2026, how its credits are charged (one per minute of the original video), what the free plan limits, how long credits last, and what an hour of podcast really costs to clip.

OpusClip Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Limits

OpusClip has a Free plan, Starter at $15 a month, Pro at $29 a month and a custom Business plan. Starter includes 150 credits a month and Pro 300 credits per pack, and OpusClip charges 1 credit per minute of the original video you import. So Starter clips about 2.5 hours of long-form video a month and Pro about 5 hours.

More on this topic: Video tool pricing and alternatives, every guide in one place.

Credits are the part most comparisons get wrong, so this guide takes them from OpusClip's own help centre and the plan features from its pricing page, both read on 26 October 2026. For the other clipping and AI video tools, see our AI video, avatars and dubbing guides.

The short answer

OpusClip Free is $0 with 60 credits a month, watermarked caption templates and exports that expire after 3 days. Starter is $15/month for 150 credits; Pro is $29/month ($14.50 billed yearly) for 300 credits per pack (2 users per pack, up to 4) with a scheduler. One credit is one minute of the video you upload, so an hour-long podcast uses 60 credits. Monthly credits last 60 days.

Key takeaways

  • 1 credit = 1 minute of the original video, whatever the number of clips; partial minutes round down, videos under a minute count as 1.
  • Starter: 150 credits a month (about 2.5 hours). Pro: 300 a month per pack (about 5 hours).
  • Monthly-plan credits expire after 60 days; yearly-plan credits last 12 months.
  • Posting or scheduling to X costs 3 credits per clip, per X account.
  • Free includes 60 credits a month, and Pro is $14.50 a month billed yearly; Starter is monthly only (pricing page, 30 October 2026).

Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in October 2026 and linked at the end.

How do OpusClip credits work?

OpusClip's help centre says processing costs 1 credit per minute of the original video imported. A 62-minute episode with 30 extra seconds costs 62 credits (partial minutes round down), and a 40-second video costs 1 credit (videos under a minute round up). The number of clips it makes from the video doesn't change the price.

You can save credits by processing only part of a video with the timeframe slider. Two charges catch people out: posting or scheduling a clip to X costs 3 credits per clip per X account, and deleting a project doesn't refund its credits.

PlanCreditsLong-form video it coversCost per hour of video
Starter150 a monthAbout 2.5 hoursAbout $6.00
Pro (1 pack)300 a monthAbout 5 hoursAbout $5.80

Do OpusClip credits expire?

Yes. On a monthly plan, credits expire 60 days after they're granted, so they roll over for one more month. On a yearly plan they last 12 months. If you cancel, any remaining credits expire on their original date. That's kinder than tools that reset every month, but a quiet two months still loses credits.

Is OpusClip free?

There's a free plan, with limits: animated caption templates carry a watermark, rendered clips go up to 1080p, exports and media are kept for 3 days, and you get one brand template. The pricing page lists 60 credits a month on Free (checked 30 October 2026), enough for about an hour of uploaded video.

Which OpusClip plan should you choose?

Work out how many minutes of long-form video you upload a month, since that, not the number of clips, sets the cost:

You upload each monthCredits neededPlan that fits
Two 45-minute webinars90Starter (150)
Four 1-hour podcast episodes240Pro (300)
Eight 1-hour episodes480Pro with a second pack, or Business
A few short videos to testUnder 30Free, accepting the watermark and 3-day exports

Pick Pro over Starter if you need the scheduler, more than one brand template or a teammate on the account, even when Starter's credits would cover you. Because monthly credits last 60 days, a plan sized for your average month absorbs one busy month, but not two in a row.

What an hour of podcast costs on OpusClip and elsewhere

Clip pricing depends on how the tool counts. OpusClip counts minutes in, others count clips out. For one hour-long episode cut into 10 clips:

ToolHow it chargesOne 60-minute episode, 10 clips
OpusClip Starter1 credit per imported minute60 of 150 credits (about $6 of a $15 plan)
QuickVeed Podcast to Clips1.5 credits per transcript minute + 3 per clip90 + 30 = 120 credits (about $2.16 on the $18 Starter plan)

OpusClip has the more established clipping product, with a scheduler for nine platforms on Pro. QuickVeed's clips take videos up to 3 hours and the same credits pay for auto subtitles, AI dubbing and AI avatars; posting and scheduling to social accounts is on the Boost and Scale plans. QuickVeed plans are $18 a month for 1,000 credits (Starter), $42 for 2,500 (Boost) and $114 for 6,000 (Scale), and a new account gets a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. That makes a credit worth about 1.7 to 1.9 cents.
