The main InVideo AI alternatives in 2026 are Pictory for turning scripts and articles into stock-footage videos, HeyGen and Synthesia for AI presenters, Runway for generated footage, Kapwing for editing and captioning in the browser, and QuickVeed for the parts around a video (short generated clips, voice, avatars, captions, dubbing and clips) on one credit balance. Their entry plans run from $15 to $29 a month billed monthly, or $12 to $25 billed yearly.
InVideo AI itself is $9, $30 or $80 per seat a month (about $4.50, $15 and $40 with its annual offer); our InVideo AI pricing guide explains its credits. Every price below was read on the vendor's own page on 30 October 2026. More in our video tool pricing and alternatives guides.
Key takeaways
- Pick by the InVideo AI job you'd miss: script to video (Pictory), presenters (HeyGen, Synthesia), generated shots (Runway) or editing (Kapwing).
- Pictory is the closest like-for-like swap: script, article or URL to a stock-footage video, from $25 a month billed yearly.
- For generated footage, Runway Standard is $12 a month yearly for 625 credits, about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5.
- HeyGen and Synthesia cost more per minute than stock-footage tools but put a presenter on screen.
- QuickVeed doesn't assemble a full video from a prompt; it makes the parts, from $18 a month.
Disclosure: we make QuickVeed, one of the tools on this list. Every other product's details come from its public pages or published reviews, checked in October 2026 and linked at the end. We include each tool's real strengths, and say who it suits better than us.
How we compared them
We picked tools people compare with InVideo AI for its main jobs: prompt or script to a finished video, AI presenters, generated footage and browser editing. We read each vendor's own pricing page on 30 October 2026 and list the monthly price, the yearly price per month and what the entry plan includes.
VEED and Fliki are often compared too, but their pricing pages didn't show prices we could read, so we left them out rather than quote second-hand numbers.

The InVideo AI alternatives, one by one
1. Pictory
Best for: Turning a script, blog post or URL into a narrated stock-footage video, the job InVideo AI is best known for
Price: Starter $29/month or $25 billed yearly; Professional $59 or $35; Teams $199 or $119; Enterprise custom.
Pictory builds a video from a script, article, URL, PowerPoint or PDF with Getty Images and Storyblocks footage, ElevenLabs voices and automatic subtitles. Starter's 2,000 monthly credits cover up to 30 minutes of video, and script or URL videos run up to 30 minutes each. Its AI video editor also handles uploaded recordings, up to 60 minutes on Starter and 180 on Professional.
Like InVideo AI, it sells credits shared across generative models: Veo 3.1 at 1080p costs 20 credits a second without audio and 40 with. Our Pictory pricing guide has the details.
Where it shines: The closest workflow to InVideo AI; premium stock libraries; video minutes stated on each plan.
Watch out for: Exports cap at 1080p; the 14-day trial is 720p and watermarked; no refunds on paid plans.
2. HeyGen
Best for: Videos presented by an AI avatar, and translating videos with lip sync
Price: Free; Creator $29/month or $24 yearly; Pro from $49 or $41; Business $149 or $119; Enterprise custom.
HeyGen puts a stock or custom avatar on screen to read your script, and translates videos into 175+ languages and dialects on paid plans. Credits are spent per minute by engine: Avatar III uses 4 to 7, Avatar IV 16 to 31 and Avatar V 48, so Creator's 600 credits are about 19 minutes of Avatar IV with a video look.
Pro adds 4K export and generated footage from models such as Seedance 2.5 and Veo 3.1. See HeyGen pricing for each plan.
Where it shines: Realistic presenters; long videos (30 minutes on Creator); translation with lip sync.
Watch out for: Costs more per minute than stock-footage tools; Creator can't buy extra credits; free videos are 1 minute and watermarked.
3. Synthesia
Best for: Training, onboarding and explainer videos with an AI presenter
Price: Basic free; Starter $19/month or $14 yearly; Pro $89 or $59; Enterprise custom.
Synthesia turns a script into a presenter-led video. Paid plans add credits on top of 10 free minutes a month: video uses 100 credits a minute, so Starter's 1,250 credits are about 12 extra minutes. Pro adds 5 personal avatars, branded video pages and interactive video. More in Synthesia pricing.
Where it shines: Polished presenter videos for training; a free plan for testing.
Watch out for: Free videos can't be downloaded; per minute it costs more than script-to-stock tools.
4. Runway
Best for: Generating original shots and effects instead of using stock footage
Price: Free (125 one-time credits); Standard $15/month or $12 yearly; Pro $35 or $28; Max $95 or $76.
Runway is a generative video tool: you prompt shots with Gen-4.5, Aleph and partner models such as Kling and Seedance, and upscale to 4K. Gen-4.5 uses 12 credits a second, so Standard's 625 monthly credits make about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 footage and Pro's 2,250 about 187 seconds. Standard and Pro credits don't roll over; Max rolls over one month.
It doesn't write a script or lay a voice over stock footage for you, so it replaces InVideo AI's generated shots, not its whole workflow. See Runway pricing.
Where it shines: Strong generated footage; no watermark on paid plans; 4K upscaling.
Watch out for: Seconds, not minutes, of footage per plan; you still edit the video elsewhere.
5. Kapwing
Best for: Editing, subtitling and dubbing your own footage in the browser
Price: Free; Pro $24 per member a month or $16 billed yearly; Business $64 or $50; Enterprise custom.
Kapwing is a browser video editor with auto-subtitles, transcript-based trimming, text to speech, dubbing into 40+ languages and AI clip tools. Pro's 1,000 monthly credits cover up to 1,000 minutes of auto-subtitles or 50 minutes of dubbing, with 4K exports up to 2 hours and no watermark. Business adds voice clones and lip sync.
It's an alternative to InVideo AI's timeline editor rather than its prompt-to-video agents.
Where it shines: A full editor in the browser; 4K on Pro; generous subtitle minutes.
Watch out for: Free exports are watermarked, 720p and 4 minutes at most; generated video isn't its focus.
6. QuickVeed
Best for: Making the pieces of a video (short generated shots, a voice over, a presenter clip, captions, a dubbed version) and clips from long recordings
Price: $18/month (1,000 credits), $42 (2,500) or $114 (6,000); yearly is 10× monthly; 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card.
QuickVeed is our product. It doesn't assemble a finished video from a prompt like InVideo AI, and there's no timeline: you put the cut together in your own editor. What it makes: 2-to-15-second clips from 15+ models with the AI video generator (from 20 credits a clip), voice overs with 9 voice models in the AI voice generator, presenter clips up to 30 seconds with AI avatars, auto subtitles in 32 languages, and AI dubbing of videos up to 10 minutes.
It also turns a podcast or long video of up to 3 hours into captioned vertical clips, at 1.5 credits a transcript minute plus 3 per clip, and has 34 free browser tools. Cloned-voice dubbing and music separation run on third-party GPU models, so try them on a short clip before you plan a whole project around them; the stock-voice route doesn't depend on them.
Where it shines: One credit balance for clips, voice, avatars, captions and dubbing; the price is shown before each job; free tools.
Watch out for: No prompt-to-full-video agent, templates or timeline; avatar clips max out at 30 seconds; a new product with no independent reviews yet.
How to choose
- You mostly turn scripts or blog posts into videos: Pictory; compare its minutes with InVideo AI's credits.
- You need a person on screen: HeyGen for longer and translated videos, Synthesia for training.
- You want original footage, not stock: Runway, or QuickVeed's generator if you need only a few shots.
- You edit your own recordings: Kapwing, or see Descript alternatives for text-based editors.
- Test first: make the same 60-second script in two free plans or trials before you pay for a year.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best alternative to InVideo AI?
For the same script-to-video job, Pictory. For an AI presenter, HeyGen or Synthesia. For generated footage, Runway. The best one depends on which part of InVideo AI you use most.
Is there a free alternative to InVideo AI?
HeyGen, Synthesia, Runway and Kapwing have free plans and Pictory has a 14-day trial, but each limits length, adds a watermark or blocks downloads. Synthesia's free plan can't download videos.
Is Pictory better than InVideo AI?
Pictory states minutes per plan (30 a month on Starter), which makes it easier to budget for script-to-video work. InVideo AI has more generative models and a full timeline editor. Compare Pictory pricing with InVideo AI pricing.
Which InVideo AI alternative is cheapest?
By entry price, Runway Standard at $12 a month billed yearly and Synthesia Starter at $14. By minutes of finished video, Pictory Professional on yearly billing works out to about 39 cents a minute ($420 for 1,080 minutes).
Can QuickVeed replace InVideo AI?
Only partly. It makes generated clips, voice overs, avatar clips, captions and dubs, but it doesn't assemble a full video from a prompt, so you'd finish the cut in your own editor.
Try it with your own video
Only need a few shots, a voice over and captions, not a whole generated video? Describe the video or paste your script, pick a voice, and judge the first draft for yourself. QuickVeed plans start at $18/month, and new accounts get a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. Sign up or see pricing.
