Submagic Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Limits

What Submagic's Starter, Pro and Business plans cost in November 2026, monthly and yearly, how its credits turn into videos, the video length and export limits on each plan, Magic Clips, the free trial and API minute packs.

Submagic Pricing (2026): Plans, Credits and Limits

Submagic costs $19 a month for Starter, $39 for Pro and $69 for Business, per member, or $12, $23 and $41 a month billed yearly ($144, $276 and $492 a year). Each plan comes with monthly credits (45, 120 and 300), and uploading a video uses 3 credits, so the plans cover about 15, 40 and 100 captioned videos a month. Above that sits a custom plan you agree with sales.

Submagic is built for short videos: you upload a clip, it adds animated captions, and you can add b-roll, zooms, sound effects and hook titles. Every number below was read on Submagic's pricing page and help centre on 1 November 2026. More breakdowns are in our video tool pricing and alternatives guides.

The short answer

Submagic Starter is $19/month or $12/month billed yearly for 45 credits (about 15 videos up to 2 minutes, 1080p). Pro is $39 or $23 yearly for 120 credits (about 40 videos up to 5 minutes, up to 2K, premium b-roll). Business is $69 or $41 yearly for 300 credits (about 100 videos up to 30 minutes, 4K at 60 fps). Prices are per member. There's no free plan, only a trial of 3 short videos that you can't download without a watermark.

Key takeaways

  • Every plan runs on credits: an upload costs 3, captions are free, other AI features cost 1 to 3 credits each.
  • The plan sets the longest video you can upload: 2 minutes on Starter, 5 on Pro, 30 on Business.
  • Yearly billing saves 37% on Starter and 41% on Pro and Business.
  • Magic Clips, which cuts long videos into shorts, costs 8 credits each, but one help article still calls it an add-on subscription.
  • Submagic doesn't offer refunds, so the free trial is the place to test it.

Disclosure: we make QuickVeed and show how to do this in it, along with other ways. Details about other products come from their public pages, checked in November 2026 and linked at the end.

How much does Submagic cost?

Submagic costs $19, $39 or $69 per member a month, or $12, $23 or $41 a month on yearly billing. From the pricing page and help centre, checked 1 November 2026:

All three paid plans export without a watermark. The file size limit is 3,000 MB on every plan, per the help centre. Submagic shows prices in US dollars or euros, at the same numbers ($19 or 19€).

How do Submagic credits work?

Every Submagic plan runs on one monthly credit balance that pays for uploads and AI features alike. Its help centre (updated 28 October 2026) lists the costs:

ActionCreditsOn Starter (45)On Pro (120)On Business (300)
Upload a video315 uploads40 uploads100 uploads
AI captions0 (included)---
Each extra AI feature1 to 3Fewer videosFewer videosFewer videos
Magic Clips8 eachAbout 51537

So the '15, 40 and 100 videos' on the pricing page assume a plain upload with captions. Add AI b-roll, a generated image or other AI features and each video takes more credits. You can buy more credits at any time from your account settings without changing plan; the help centre doesn't list the top-up price.

Submagic's help centre isn't fully in step with this yet: the Magic Clips guide, also updated 28 October 2026, says Magic Clips is an add-on subscription you activate under My Account, and doesn't say what 8 credits buys (one long video or one clip). Check in the app before you plan a podcast workflow around it.

The pricing page puts a value on Pro's stock library: Storyblocks b-roll, music and sound effects are '$40/mo standalone'. If you'd use that library, Pro is the plan most people should compare. The page still carries an older comparison table with slightly different numbers (for example 3 users on Pro and unlimited on Business), so treat the cards above as the current offer.

Is there a free version of Submagic?

No free plan, but there is a trial. The help centre says you can upload 3 short videos and edit them however you like, and that downloading without a watermark needs a subscription. Since the Starter plan's limit is 2 minutes per video, keep trial uploads short.

Test before you pay, because Submagic's help centre says it does not offer refunds. You can cancel at any time and keep the plan to the end of the period you've paid for.

Is Submagic worth it?

Per video it's reasonable if you make short clips every week. Dividing the price by the videos its credits cover:

PlanMonthly per videoYearly per video
Starter (15 videos)About $1.27About $0.80
Pro (40 videos)About $0.98About $0.58
Business (100 videos)About $0.69About $0.41

Those numbers assume you use every credit on plain captioned uploads. Submagic's real strength is styling: its caption templates, b-roll, zooms and sound effects make a talking-head clip look edited in a couple of minutes. It's a weaker fit for long videos (2 and 5 minute caps on the cheaper plans) or if you mainly need to find the clips inside a long recording; for that, compare OpusClip pricing and Klap pricing.

Cheaper options than Submagic

Where QuickVeed fits

QuickVeed isn't a caption-styling editor like Submagic: there's no timeline, no b-roll library and no zoom effects. What it does is cheaper per minute. auto subtitles transcribe videos up to 3 hours at 1.5 credits a minute (2 credits for a 1-minute clip), translate the subtitles into 32 languages with the timing kept, export SRT or VTT, and burn captions in at a credit a minute (3 at least), so a captioned 1-minute clip is about 5 credits, under 10 cents.

For long videos, Podcast to Clips picks up to 10 moments of 15 to 90 seconds from a recording of up to 3 hours, reframes them to 9:16 around the speaker, and adds word-by-word captions in 11 styles with a hook title. An hour-long episode costs 90 credits to transcribe, a small AI charge to find the moments, and 3 credits for each finished clip, so ten clips from an hour come to about 120 credits plus that AI charge (roughly $2.20 on Starter). Clips export at up to 1280 pixels on the long side (720 × 1280 vertical), not 2K or 4K. QuickVeed plans are $18 a month for 1,000 credits (Starter), $42 for 2,500 (Boost) and $114 for 6,000 (Scale), yearly billing costs 10 times the monthly price, and a new account gets a 14-day trial with 250 credits, no card needed. A credit works out to about 1.7 to 1.9 cents.
